Description

The original joint grave of men of the 4th Australian Light Horse Regiment, who were all killed in action on the Gallipoli Peninsula on 6 August 1915. Identified on the tombstone: 549 Lance Corporal Humphry Osborne Moule, native of Brighton, Vic, died aged 22 years; 73 Tooper (Tpr) Frederick Charles Lionel Bridgeland (formerly served in the Boer War in the 5th Mounted Rifles Contingent), died aged 34 years; 191 Driver Smedley Joseph John Terry (Smedley Terry), native of Flaggy Creek, Vic, died aged 19 years; 192 Tpr Miles Nuel Turner, native of Colac, Vic, died aged 24 years. Tpr Turner's cousin, 7338 Private James Butler White, 23rd Battalion, was killed in action in Belgium on 5 October 1917, aged 19 years.
