Lt Edgar Boyd Clouston, (later of 23rd Battalion, and a member of the 4th Company, Australian Machine Gun Corps, died of wounds in Belgium on 26 September 1917, aged 22 years). Capt-Chaplain John Dempsey, a Congregational Minister who served with 2nd Light Horse of Burwood, NSW, (born in Ireland); he was torpedoed in the Mediterranean Sea and on 13 June 1917 died of septic pneumonia from this incident, aged 36 years. Lt Francis Henry Haylen, (later of 2nd Battalion, of North Sydney, NSW; he was killed in action on 21 September 1917, aged 25 years). Lt John Clifford Peel, a medical student of Inverleigh, Vic, (later of 3rd Squadron, Australian Flying Corps; he died on 19 September 1918 aged 24 years). Lt Ernest Althouse, (an accountant of Woollahra, NSW, later with 53rd Battalion; he was killed in action at Bellicourt, France on 30 September 1918 aged 34 years). Lt John Wellington Grapes, (a British Boer War veteran and a farmer of Sydney, NSW, (originally from Dublin, Ireland), later of the 8th Battalion and he died of accidental injuries in France on 24 July 1917 aged 36 years). Lt Albert Smethurst West, (a student of Marrickville, NSW; he died of wounds in France on 17 July 1918 aged 22 years).
