Sword sling : Royal Artillery
Description
Short sword sling made of red leather covered with gold bullion lace in the Royal Artillery pattern. The sling fastens to the belt by a loop at the top secured by a brass stud. The end of the sling has a gilded brass buckle in the shape of two lions heads.
History / Summary
The Royal Artillery bullion lace on this sling has been relined with red leather. The 1900 dress regulations for the Royal Artillery indicate that the sword belt and slings should be made of blue morroco leather.
