Three captured Japanese officers, handcuffed together between their captors in front of a RAF ...
Description
Three captured Japanese officers, handcuffed together between their captors in front of a RAF Douglas C-47 Dakota IV aircraft (serial number KN622 of 48 Squadron RAF), probably being transpored to trial. Identified from left to right: Squadron Leader Pitts, RAAF; Japanese War Minister, General Anami Korechika; Kasiyama; Mori; and Police Corporal Morris, RAF. The large letters spelling 'SNAKE' under the serial number indicates that this aircraft was not to be retained or diverted in the Middle East during the ferry flight and to continue onto the RAF's SEAC (South East Asia Command) in India.
