A crowd of Australian servicemen and civilians at the stand during a meeting at the Cairo race course. The event was well attended by Australian troops stationed in training camps around Cairo at the time, such as the group of Light Horsemen standing at right. Note the well dressed women in the centre, wearing ornate feather hats and fur stoles, despite the mild Egyptian weather.
