Description
Studio portrait of 826 Private (Pte) Harry James Britter, D Company, 31st Battalion, of West Geelong, Vic. Pte Britter enlisted on 8 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard either HMAT Bakara on 5 November 1915 or HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. He later served as a sergeant and returned to Australia on 2 January 1919. Pte Britter played five games for the Victorian Football League team Melbourne in 1914. After the First World War he played one game for Geelong in 1924.
