Description
United States First World War poster issued by the Department of Labour to recruit young men (aged 16 - 21) for the U.S. Boys' Working Reserve. Formed in May 1917 to help ease labour and food shortages the reserve recruited volunteer youths into three units ; Agricultural, Industrial and Vocational. This poster calls for patriotic young men to volunteer for farm work to win "over there" . The image is of a young man ploughing in the foreground silhouetted over an image of the Western Front in the background. The title text in white lettering is positioned in the upper left corner with further text printed in grey ink bottom centre. Both image and text are set against a blue background.
