Give the world the once over in the United States Navy
Description
First World War recruitment poster issued by the United States Navy Recruitment Bureau. It features a colour reproduction of a painting by James Daughtery depicting sailors on leave in India in the upper two thirds. Several sailors are riding an elephant while others are sightseeing and taking photographs. The image is set into a white background with the title text printed in black ink in the lower third. It promotes the Navy by telling eligibles that joining the Navy is a way to see the world.
