Description

Intercommunication control unit for use by a gun or battery controller for the FLAK 36 dual purpose, 8.8cm gun. The unit consists of a set of rubber cupped, black headphones with a boom microphone attached. The headphones are connected by cables to a black rectangular junction intercom box designed to be worn on the users chest. This junction intercom box has a three way toggle switch and is connected to a remote, brown bakelite control box, via a five metre rubber insulated cable. The brown control box has a hinging lid and rivetted to the outside of the lid are two small white plaques, one blank with a green stripe and one with the German alphabet printed on it. Attached to the inside lid are two aluminium plates with wiring diagrams printed on them. Inside the control box are two silver, threaded terminals for the attachment of telephone wires and an empty battery compartment with a black hinging lid with two more smaller, silver, threaded terminals located inside the compartment. There is a black detachable diecast and plastic winding handle used to operate the telephone component of the control box. This handle screws into the side of the box via a threaded aperture. At the front of the control box are two more apertures designed to take a two pin plug. Attached to each end of the control box is a quick release, brown leather carry strap. Attached at one end below the carry strap is a threaded, black, four pin, female plug.
