Studio portrait of QX7387 Sergeant (Sgt) George Walter Weier, right, and his older brother QX19283 Private (Pte) Edward Otto Weier. Both of Gatton, Qld, the brothers served with the 2/31 Battalion. Sgt G W Weier enlisted on 1 May 1940, and, after four years of active service, was killed in action three days after his battalion landed at the beach in Balikpapan, Borneo on 3 July 1945.
