Description
Studio portrait of 3456A (2882) Private (Pte) James McPherson Smith, 11th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Hotspur via Condah, Vic. Pte Smith enlisted on 9 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He later served as a corporal. He died of wounds on 8 February 1917 at Dernancourt, France.
