Description

Mauser Model 98 Rifle Bayonet. All blued steel with a blade that has a spear point and a single fuller to each side. The grips are plain wood held to the tang by two screw bolts. It has a Nazi proof stamp with gup on the slotted pommel and the rifle serial number on the short cross guard that does not have a muzzle ring. The blued sheet steel scabbard has a tear drop frog stud and is stamped H64.

History / Summary

This is the standard early pattern German M98 bayonet for the Second World War. The scabbard serial number does not match the bayonet.
