Studio portrait of 3483 Private (Pte) John Henry Sporle, 11th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of Knowsley, Vic. Pte Sporle enlisted on 9 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He returned to Australia on 12 May 1919 with the 1st Divisional Signal Company.
