Description
Studio portrait of two soldiers wearing greatcoats and balaclavas. The soldier on the left is holding a baby possum in the palm of his hand. One of them is identified as: 131 Lance Corporal (LCpl) Alfred Betts, A Company, 31st Battalion, of Lismore, NSW, aged 22 years. LCpl Betts enlisted on 15 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. He was later promoted to corporal and returned to Australia on 25 March 1919.
