Description
Studio portrait of Corporals (Cpl) Webb and Kneale. They are: 3435 Corporal (Cpl) Leslie Francis Webb, of Abbotsford, Vic, aged 23 years; and 3318 Cpl William Burnard Kneale, of Armadale, Vic, aged 22 years. Cpl Webb enlisted on 6 July 1915 and Cpl Kneale enlisted on 3 July 1915. They both embarked from Melbourne with the 11th Reinforcement, 5th Battalion, on 11 October 1915. Pte Webb returned to Australia on 18 May 1919. Cpl Kneale was promoted to sergeant and died of wounds on 13 February 1917 in France. He is buried at Dernancourt Communal Cemetery, Plot V, Row B Grave 7.
