Description
Studio portrait of 3440 Private (Pte) Arthur James Perry, 60th Battalion. A labourer, of Abbotsford, Victoria, he enlisted in the 7th Battalion on 17 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915 for Egypt. He was transferred to the 59th Battalion on 23 February 1916 and then to the 60th Battalion on 15 March 1916. The 60th Battalion relocated to the Western Front, France in June 1916. Pte Perry was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France, on 19 July 1916. He was aged 28 years.
