Description
Studio portrait of 3617 Private (Pte) Alec Edward Nicholls, 11th Reinforcements, 15th Battalion, of Longford, Tas. Pte Nicholls enlisted on 17 August 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 27 October 1915. He was wounded in action on 13 August 1916 in France. Pte Nicholls attended Officers Training College from 30 May 1917 and returned to Australia as a sergeant on 3 May 1919. See also DA11595.
