DPDU bush hat : Captain P D Jones, RAN Task Force Commander
Description
Mark II (Afghanistan pattern) Disruptive Pattern Desert Uniform (DPDU) bush hat. The hat has a wide circular brim and an oval shaped crown which is worn fore and aft. A band stitched around the outside of the crown at 40 mm intervals creates loops for the insertion of camouflage materials. Inside, the crown of the hat and the front section of the headband are lined with dark green absorbent towelling and a green maker's label with the size marking 'Large' is sewn into the rear. The hat has a khaki cotton cord with a green plastic toggle attached.
History / Summary
DPDU bush hat worn by Captain Peter Jones, Commander of the RAN Task Force in the Persian Gulf which comprised HMA Ships Kanimbla, Anzac and Darwin.
