Description

Ifould speaks of his role in the low-level daylight bombing raid on a marine diesel-engine manufacturing workshop at Augsburg, Germany on 17 April 1942 by a small force of new Lancaster bombers; 5/12 aircraft returned to England; Squadron Leader J D Nettleton No 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron SAAF was awarded the Victoria Cross for his leadership of the raid.
