Three airman attending the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Canada. Identified left to right: 423365 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Ronald Alfred Smith, 422687 Warrant Officer (WO) George Pearton; 422111 WO Roy Owen Baker, RAAF. Flt Sgt Smith, of East Sydney, NSW, enlisted on 20 June 1942 and was lost over Iceland during a mission on 9 November 1944, aged 21 years. At the time of his death Flt Sgt Smith was posted to 251 Squadron at Reykjavic, RAF.
