Studio portrait of 2886 Private (Pte) Vere Nelson Harvey, aged 23 years (left) and his brother 577 Pte Arthur Allen Harvey, aged 19 years (right), both of Wellington, NSW, wearing their training uniforms. Vere enlisted on 8 July 1915 and served with the 6th Reinforcements, 18th Battalion. He embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Euripides on 2 August 1915. He was killed in action on 3 July 1916 at Bois Grenier, France. Arthur had a probable enlistment date of 8 July 1915 but he died of illness on 21 August 1915 while training at Victoria Barracks, Paddington, Australia.
