Description
[Register caption: A Morrison]
Studio portrait of 3191 Private (Pte) Alexander Morrison, 24th Battalion. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Pte Morrison was a sailor of no fixed address prior to enlistment and embarked with the 7th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Commonwealth on 26 November 1916. Later serving in France with the 8th Battalion, he developed rheumatism and this, combined with his age, led to him being medically unfit for further service. He was discharged in England on 11 May 1917.
