Description
Studio portrait possibly of 3331 Private (Pte) William George Smith, 7th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Stawell, Vic, aged 19 years. Pte Smith enlisted on 4 August 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Commonwealth on 26 November 1915. He was killed in action on 28 October 1916 in France, whilst serving with the 57th Battalion.
