Portrait of 402485 Sergeant (Sgt) (later Pilot Officer) William Frederick (Bill) Collins (left), of Goondiwindi, Qld and 400981 Sergeant Rex Alfred Gotts (right), of Richmond, Vic. The pair have completed their training in Canada and are standing in front of the Jasper railway station in Alberta, Canada. Sgt Collins enlisted in Sydney, NSW, on 19 August 1940. He was posted to 106 Squadron (RAF) and was killed whilst on operations over France on 27 April 1944. Sgt Gotts enlisted in Melbourne, Vic, on 7 December 1940. He was posted to 50 Squadron (RAF) and was killed whilst on operations over Denmark on 23 September 1942.
