Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection contains two letters from Private Saunders to his parents and son that he wrote while on active service. In the letters, Private Saunders describes the living and fighting conditions in Korea. Collection also contains two letters from members of 3rd Battalion who served with Private Saunders including 4400163 Private Glenn Brown and 2401292 Private Brian Thomas Davoren. In their letters, they describe the circumstances of Private Saunders' death. Private Saunders was reported missing in action following a patrol on 25 January 1953 and his body was never recovered. Collection also includes three newspapers cuttings that describe the return of Australian prisoners-of-war from Korea, and a tribute to Private Saunders that was written by his son, Ian Saunders in 2000.
