Aviation tool box : Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force
Green, Japanese, steel tool box with a partly pitched hinging lid and drop down hinging front panel. Swinging steel handles are fitted to each end. Rivetted to each end of the lid is a 55mm aluminium disc depicting a Japanese character in black print. The hinged lid is secured to the box with three swinging latches fitted at the front. The interior contains two steel drawers, that slide on small steel rollers. Each drawer has two oval shaped hand holds, cut from the front panels. There is also a lift out steel tray that fits into the top of the box. The green paint is heavily chipped and there is some surface corrosion. Some red paint splashes are present on the lid and a possible dope spalsh to the front panel. Adhered to the rear of the tool box is a heavily damaged, rectangular shaped, red and white shipping sticker, with the word 'FREMANTLE' printed on it.
