Description
Studio portrait of 2588 Temporary Corporal (T/Cpl) Sidney Joseph Cameron, 6th Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Hamilton, Vic. T/Cpl Cameron enlisted on 2 August 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 27 October 1915. He later served as a corporal. He was killed in action on 15 August 1916 in France whist serving with the 58th Battalion. Five of members of his family also served in the AIF, four cousins, who were killed in action, and his brother (who lost his left arm).
