Description
Studio portrait of brothers: 320 Private (Pte) Charles Conrad Dank (left) and 183 Pte Henry Adam Dank (right), both of A Company, 31st Battalion, of Clifton, Qld. They enlisted together on 13 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. Pte C Dank was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles, France. Pte H A Dank returned to Australia on 9 December 1918.
