Studio portrait of SX12049 Corporal (Cpl) John Hamlyn Daniel, 2/27th Battalion, of Milang, SA. A brickmoulder in civilian life, he enlisted on 29 March 1941. Whilst serving in New Guinea, Cpl Daniel died of wounds on 10 October 1943, aged 22 years. He was later recommended for a Military Medal, although the award was never conferred.
