Informal portrait of 413356 Aircraftman John Douglas Dally, 36 Squadron, RAAF, of Lindfield, NSW. He enlisted for service in August 1941 and was later promoted to sergeant. He was killed, aged 22 years, in a flying accident on 14 September 1942 when his DC-2 aircraft crashed while attempting to land at Seven Mile Strip, near Port Moresby, New Guinea.
