Description

An approximately 1:22 scale model of the Cruiser tank, made from mild cast steel welded together and nickel plated. The model is made from the following pieces - turret (separate assembly which rotates in the body); barrel (bolted in); body; glacis machine gun (screwed in); six bogie assemblies with rotating wheels (bolted in); two drive wheels and two return wheels (screwed in); six idlers (bolted in) and two corrugated strips which serve for the tracks.

History / Summary

The model of the AC 1 Sentinel tank. The model tank may have been made by Mr Henry John Lawton who was employed as a Civil Defence Employee during WWII as an Engineer with the Armoured Fighting Vehicles Section at Fishermans Bend, Melbourne. The model is constructed from nickel plated, cast mild steel and represents a pre-production version of the AC 1 tank.
