Description
Distant view of a group of officers, probably of the 1st Battalion Australian Commonwealth Horse (1ACH), conducting a court martial trial beside a tent in the west Transvaal region, South Africa. This rare photograph of a court martial trial possibly relates to the service of 1238 Sergeant Cyrus Havelock Lade, who served with the 1st (Tasmanian) Contingent and 1ACH during the Boer War. A larger camp site of scattered tents is visible in the background.
