Description
Studio portrait of 3337 Private (Pte) Herbert Joel Harbour, 11th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Beaconsfield, Vic. Pte Harbour enlisted on 12 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. On 17 March 1916 he was transferred to the 15th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) and then to the 6th FAB on 27 January 1917. Pte Harbour was killed in action on 27 February 1917 at Pozieres, France, whilst serving with the 6th FAB.
