Description

Five crew members of HMAS Kanimbla wait the arrival on the ships flight deck of the S-70B-2 Sea Hawk helicopter from HMAS Anzac. The Sea Hawk helicopter is embarked on HMAS Anzac to enhance the ships anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare capabilities. During Operation Falconer, HMAS Kanimbla supplied command and control support to the coalition boarding parties clearing the Khawr Abd Allah waterway. HMAS Kanimbla also provided valuable support to the Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3) through the provision of logistics support and work platform facilities. HMAS Kanimbla operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian Defence Force's commitment to the coalition forces assembled to enforce Iraq's compliance with its international obligations to disarm.
