During Operation Falconer, AUSCDT3 conducted mine clearance operations, that consisted of shallow water Mine Counter Measures (MCM) and Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) in the Khawr Abd Allah waterway, Um Qasr, the Al Faw peninsula, and later the Khawr Az Zubayr waterway. AUSCDT3 operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
