Description
A boarding party from HMAS Kanimbla travel in a Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat (RHIB) on the Khawr Abd Allah (KAA) waterway. They are participating in a ship to ship exchange with the Royal Navy mine-hunter, HMS Grimsby, which is part of the coalition fleet operating in the Persian Gulf on mine clearance duties. During Operation Falconer, HMAS Kanimbla supplied command and control support to the coalition boarding parties clearing the KAA waterway, and logistics support and work platform facilities to Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3). HMAS Kanimbla operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the Coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
