Description

A convoy of two Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, drives past the former Australian Australian Embassy residence. The ASLAVs are on patrolling the area as part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET). SECDET is responsible for providing protection to Australian Diplomats and Australian Defence Force personnel during the reconstruction period in Iraq. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian Defence Force's commitment to the coalition forces assembled to enforce Iraq's compliance with its international obligations to disarm.
