Description
A Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat (RHIB) is lowered into the Khawr Abd Allah (KAA) waterway from HMAS Kanimbla. A boarding party from HMAS Kanimbla will use the RHIB to take part in a ship to ship exchange with the Royal Navy mine-hunter, HMS Grimsby. HMS Grimsby was part of the coalition fleet operating in the Persian Gulf on mine clearance duties. During Operation Falconer, HMAS Kanimbla supplied command and control support to the coalition boarding parties clearing the KAA waterway, and logistics support and work platform facilities to Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3). HMAS Kanimbla operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the Coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
