Description

Members of Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3) listen to a briefing being given on future tasks to take place on the Al Faw peninsula. Identified are Leading Seaman Clearance Diver (LSCD) Jason 'Dunny' Dunn, Petty Officer Clearance Diver (POCD) Michael 'Digger' Graves, Able Seaman Clearance Diver (ABCD) John Jarvis, ABCD 'Dino' Dean, LSCD Andrew 'Dubs' Munro, LSCD David Chandler, POCD Troy Pudney, POCD Chris Smart, Leading Seaman Radio Operator (LSRO) Griff Snell, ABCD Richard Court and POCD Gavin Stevens. During Operation Falconer, AUSCDT3 conducted mine clearance operations, that consisted of shallow water Mine Counter Measures (MCM) and Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) in the Khawr Abd Allah waterway, Umm Qasr, the Al Faw peninsula, and later the Khawr Az Zubayr waterway. AUSCDT3 operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
