A Eureka Stockade flag flies behind a vehicle belonging to Blue Team, Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3). Blue Team, AUSCDT3, were on a mine clearance patrol on the Al Faw peninsula. AUSCDT3 completed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) of a 160 kilometre square area of potential minefield on the Al Faw peninsula over a period of ten days. Each team chose a different flag as they were not to fly Australian flags. Located on the peninsula were many key oil installations and the port of Um Qasr. During Operation Falconer, AUSCDT3 conducted mine clearance operations, that consisted of Shallow water Mine Counter Measures (MCM) and EOD in the Khawr Abd Allah waterway, Um Qasr, the Al Faw peninsula, and later the Khawr az Zubayr waterway. AUSCDT3 operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
