Description
Lance Corporal (L Cpl) Matt 'Redgie' Redgen (foreground), and an unidentified member of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment inside an Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV). The 2nd Cavalry Regiment formed part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET) responsible for providing protection to Australian Diplomats and members of the Australian Defence Force during the reconstruction phase in Iraq. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian Defence Force's commitment to the coalition forces assembled to enforce Iraq's compliance with its international obligations to disarm.
