Description
Lance Corporal Jason Nuske of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, in the turret of an Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV), is greeted by a group of local children while on patrol in a residential area of Baghdad. During Operation Falconer the 2nd Cavalry Regiment formed part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET) that played a key role in ensuring the protection of Australian diplomats in Iraq. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian Defence Force's commitment to the coalition forces assembled to enforce Iraq's compliance with its international obligations to disarm.
