Description
An Iraqi woman wearing the traditional burka, passes five Australian soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), on piquet duty outside the former Australian Embassy residence, Baghdad. Identified is Private Nathan Lissing (right). During Operation Falconer, 2RAR formed part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET) responsible for providing protection to Australian Diplomats in Iraq. 2RAR operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
