Description
Private (Pte) Steve Ellis, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), is sewing a new name tag to attach to his personal belongings. He is making the most of his time away from piquet duty by completing some much needed housekeeping duties in his accommodation quarters. The accommodation for 2RAR was an unfinished thirteen floor hotel next to the former Australian Embassy residence. During Operation Falconer, 2RAR formed part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET) responsible for providing protection to Australian Diplomats in Iraq. 2RAR operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
