Description
Studio portrait of 3245 Private Hermann Schulze, 21st Battalion of Lake Hindmarsh, Victoria. A farmer prior to enlistment, he embarked on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Wiltshire (A8). Later promoted to Lance Corporal and transferred to the 22nd Battalion. He was killed in action on 3 May 1917 at the battle of Bullecourt. He was aged 30 years.
