Description
General Service Badge 1939-1945. The obverse shows the three symbols of the armed forces, wings, rising sun and an anchor surmounted by the king's crown and the text 'SERVICE'. Underneath the anchor is written 'AUSTRALIA'. The reverse has further text which reads from the top; 'A. J. PARKES BRISBANE' '1948' 'A122767' 'ISSUED BY COMMONWEALTH GOVERNMENT'.
