Dutch prisoner of war
Description
Depicts a Dutch prisoner of war dressed in a Russian fur cap, long coat, pantaloons and clogs. The painting was originally donated to the War Memorial in December 1947 by Mr. Robert Emil Luks. R.E.Luks served with the Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train, during the First World War, and amassed a large collection of material, donating it to the War Memorial during the 1930s and 40s.
