Studio portrait of Mrs Irene Simper, on her wedding day. She married SX21753 Sergeant (Sgt) Colin Douglas Simper. They met at a dance at the Palais, Semaphore Beach, SA. Sgt Simper of the 2/48th Battalion, of Clarendon, SA, later promoted to lieutenant, died of wounds on 9 June 1945 in Borneo. He is buried at the Tarakan War Cemetery. See also P03039.001.
