Group portrait of members of the 5th Reinforcements, 53rd Battalion, grouped outside the Bathurst courthouse. Presumably all men from the Bathurst and surrounding areas pictured before leaving for Sydney. The 5th Reinforcements embarked from Sydney, NSW, for service overseas aboard HMAT Mashobra (A47) on 14 September 1916.
