HMAS Parramatta - survivors' records
Description
Collection relating to the torpedoing and sinking of HMAS Parramatta in November 1941 off the coast of Tobruk, and the rescue of its crew by HMS Avonvale. The bulk of the collection comprises correspondence written by some of the survivors or their family to Terry Currie, a member of HMS Avonvale. Also included are: a memoir by A N (Dusty) Miller, one of four survivors who swam to the Libyan coast; photographs of survivors at a reunion, 1995; and a pencil sketch and an ink drawing of HMAS Parramatta that Terry Currie used for a remembrance card he sent to the survivors, 1995.
